The louvered roof shutters, operated with a turn of the handle, create a fully weatherproof space, ensuring comfort in any weather condition. Rainwater effortlessly drains off through specially engineered channels inside the legs, flowing out and away, anchored securely to the ground, and following the natural fall of the existing surface.

Standing 20cm taller than the Maranza Pergola, the Rota serves as a perfect overhang above bifold doors, providing an efficient and durable solution for terrace roof construction. This model is available in eight different sizes, offering a wide variety of options and the potential to combine multiple units to suit your space seamlessly.

Opt for the optional deluxe side screens to enhance your outdoor experience. These screens can be fixed to the pergola, creating an enclosed space that protects you from the sun, wind, and rain. Elevate your outdoor lifestyle with the Rota Pergola, a smart solution with a long lifespan, turning your garden into a haven of comfort and style.

    Screen Options

The selected optional side screens for the Rota Pergola are the SUNS Lifestyle Deluxe Screens, exclusively compatible with this model. Please be aware that the screens are intentionally designed to be retracted when the Rota is not in use, ensuring their longevity.

    SUNS Lifestyle Deluxe Screens:

    High Quality Materials

Crafted with precision, the Pergola boasts a high-quality aluminium construction, coated with a striking Matt Royal Grey or Matt White finish that not only catches the eye but is also UV protected. This ensures that the colour remains vibrant over time, offering both aesthetic appeal and protection for you and your family against harmful UV rays.

Experience virtually maintenance-free ownership thanks to the weatherproof features and robust aluminium build, guaranteeing durability for many years of outdoor enjoyment.

Opting for the optional side screens introduces an unparalleled level of strength and beauty, as they are meticulously crafted from the highest quality Textilene. Composed of PVC coated woven polyester non-stretch yarn, Textilene stands out for its flame-retardant properties, heat sealability, mildew resistance, and stability under varying temperatures. This fabric is not only visually appealing but also a top-tier choice for durability, purposefully formulated to withstand the rigours of wear and tear, making it an exceptional option for extended outdoor use.

Explore the simplicity of assembling our Pergolas with comprehensive instructions included in every package. Designed for easy self-fitting with basic DIY knowledge, it is recommended to have two additional people and a set of tools for optimal efficiency.

The estimated build time varies for each model, ranging from 1 to 5 hours, ensuring a quick and straightforward installation process. To safeguard your investment, anchoring the Pergola to the ground is strongly advised. Ensure you have a substantial foundation before commencing the build, as any damage caused by inadequate anchoring is not covered by the warranty.

If the prospect of self-assembly doesn't appeal to you, simply check the box above to include professional installation with your order. For detailed information on installation and the pre-installation guide agreement, please refer to this link.

Maintaining an ideal natural fall of 10mm is recommended to facilitate proper water drainage and the correct fitting of the screens. Most patios likely meet this requirement based on building regulations. However, our installation team can use packers under specific legs to ensure the Pergola works seamlessly if the patio level differs. By opting for our installation service, you are consenting to our team using packers under the footplates in such instances.

    Pre Install Guidance

Before embarking on groundworks or scheduling a pergola installation, review our essential guidance below to facilitate discussions with your landscaper or builder.

The pergola necessitates fitting onto a stable surface, and beneath the finished surface, there must be a secure foundation, such as a concrete pad. This preparation should be completed prior to our installers' arrival, as groundworks are not included in their services. A local tradesperson can provide valuable assistance for this phase.

For your convenience, we offer a floor plan indicating the precise placement of the pergola's floor plates based on your chosen size and orientation. This floor plan is also accessible on the relevant product page on our website.

We recommend concrete pads of approximately 40x40x40cm beneath any tiles. If you have decking, we advise a similar approach or, alternatively, incorporating extra structural joists below the decking. Finish your surface completely with tiles or decking so that, upon our installers' arrival, they can seamlessly drill through the tile or deck and secure it into a robust foundation below.

Choosing your pergola size before commencing any groundworks is advisable. However, if you've already laid the patio or deck, we recommend verifying the stability beneath the surface. Ensure it is secure enough, as Type 1 or sand would not be suitable. Composite decking without a solid foundation below would lack the necessary security, unless there are existing structural beams underneath where the footplates will be situated. If this is the case, successful installation is feasible, provided all footplates rest on adequately wide structural beams for secure bolting.

Can I Build the Pergola Myself?

All models come with instructions and can be self-fitted with basic DIY knowledge, as well as ideally two more people to help, plus an array of tools. Estimated build time varies for each size model and can range from 1-5 hours. This does not affect the 5-year manufacturers’ warranty on the frame or the 2 year warranty on the sun & weather screens.

    Is the Pergola Roof Weatherproof?

When the louvres are fully closed, the roof is completely weatherproof in standard conditions. Rainwater runs from the roof louvres into the guttering and then drains down internally through the legs. During extreme weather conditions and severely heavy rain, there may be a slight leakage as excessive water cannot flow through the drainage quick enough and can spill over, just like guttering on a home or an external drain.

Are the Pergolas wind & storm resistant?

Our models are semi-permanent structures, meaning they are secured to the surface and not below; this makes them very sturdy and durable, yet still with the ability to move if required. Always keep the roof louvres slightly open during extreme weather conditions to allow the wind to pass through the structure.

Can the Pergola be dismantled & reassembled?

    Yes, this is possible.

    Does the Pergola Require Maintenance?

These models require very minimal maintenance. The frame can be washed with cleaning materials and also jet washed. The gutters can also be cleared with a jet wash.

You can find our range of cleaning and maintenance products here.

What’s the difference between the Rota & Maranza Pergolas?

The functionality is the same on both models. The key difference in models is the height. The Rota is 20cm taller, so it makes a great overhang above bifold doors. In addition, the Rota louvres open slightly different from the Maranza, venting fully vertical and towards the shorter length. With the exception of models with six legs (which have a roof system split in two), the Rota works on one roofing system, so all louvres open in one movement, whereas depending on the frame size of the Maranza, it has multiple roof sections, so one section could be closed and another open. The Maranza louvres open towards the longer length, making this model ideal for south-facing gardens.

What surface can the Pergola be installed on?

Our professional fitters can install and secure onto any flat, solid surface as long as the dimensions of the area are correct.

My surface has a slope, can you install a Pergola on this?

Aluminium louvered roof pergolas work on the natural fall of your existing surface to allow the rain to drain meaning a slight fall is necessary. Please take care to ensure you have measured the area correctly and have a flat surface with a max of 1:80 fall (which, by building regulations your patio should already have). For anything more than this, we would need prior notification, as it means we would need to fit the pergola with packers. Our installers can adjust the legs to sit flat, using spacers up to 50mm; this does not affect your warranty. A 1:80 fall over a distance of 3410mm is 42mm. For best fitting of the deluxe screens a fall of 10mm is best suited to ensure smooth operation, please note that packers or adjustments may be required if the fall is beyond this.

Can the Pergola be connected to our building?

The outside legs of the frame are always required and cannot be removed. However, we can place the footplates flush to the wall and add flashing to close the gap between the building and the top of the roof beam. This would then keep the structure watertight to your building. Please get in touch to enquire about this option.
