This fireplace, designed to be completely load-bearing, requires a stable foundation for optimal security. You may even raise the height of the chimney by purchasing more blocks, giving you additional design and function options.

We recommend a 100mm thick concrete (or similar material) base as the completed build is very heavy and could sink or slant if the base is not strong enough.
